Founded in 1834 in Tain-lHermitage, Paul Jaboulet Aîné is one of the Rhône Valleys most historic and respected wine producers. Since 2006, the estate has been owned by the Frey family, with Caroline Frey leading the winemaking team. The Parallèle 45 range is the winerys most iconic collection, first introduced in the 1950s and named after the 45th parallel north, which passes close to the estates cellars. Today, it remains one of the benchmark wines of the Côtes du Rhône appellation. Vintage Conditions The 2023 growing season began with a rainy autumn followed by a dry winter. Flowering occurred under favourable conditions in mid-May, while the summer remained generally moderate with only a few periods of intense heat. These stable conditions allowed the fruit to ripen evenly and reach harvest in excellent health, resulting in wines with freshness, balance and expressive fruit character. Winemaking Techniques Produced exclusively from organically grown fruit, Parallèle 45 2023 is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Marselan and Carignan sourced from vineyards across the Côtes du Rhône appellation. The vines average around 40 years of age and are planted on clay-limestone soils and alluvial terraces. Following fermentation, the wine was matured for approximately six months in stainless steel vats and conical tanks to preserve fruit purity and freshness.
